1 Million Women is a movement of women and girls living climate action everyday. We encourage everyone to be doing as much as we can to reduce our carbon emissions and be more engaged in action, politically and within our own communities however we focus on women and girls as we are agents of change and together we have untapped potential. When we say women and girls, this includes anyone who identifies as a woman and/or girl. Through our work we always aim to empower and elevate marginalised people who stand to be most affected by climate change; this includes frontline communities, Indigenous Peoples, People of Colour, and LGBTQIA+ folk.
We are committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusion and connectedness within our movement. The collective sum of our individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, innovation, self-expression, and passion drives this movement and we want everyone to feel like they have a place in it.
We acknowledge that globally there cannot be climate justice without justice for First Nations people. The 1 Million Women team operates on unceded Gadigal land here in so-called Australia.
