Leonardo DiCaprio has donated art to the LACMA for climate change!

Boy, we love Leo!

Not only is he a talented actor and vocal supporter of a low carbon lifestyle - now he has donated a climate-related artwork to Los Angeles Museum, the LACMA – and it's seriously awesome.

It's an installation piece called Solar Reserve (Tonopah, Nevada) by Dublin artist John Gerrard. Twenty-eight by twenty-four feet, the giant LED screen displays a stunning virtual view of a solar power plant in Nevada, USA.

Last year at the UN Climate Change summit, Leonardo stated that he has donated the artwork to LACMA to raise greater awareness about climate change -

“Whether it is through art or other venues, we must work to promote a healthy and sustainable future for our planet and I hope to continue to bring additional exhibits to Los Angeles and beyond that promote this message.”
- Leonardo DiCaprio

The actual solar plant consists of ten thousand mirrors that move with the sun, reflecting the sunlight and generating electricity – Visitors to the LACMA will be able to experience the plant by viewing the simulated movement of it's mirrors exactly as if they were standing right in front of it in Nevada.

But if you can't make it all the way to Los Angeles, check it out in the video below -
