6 Documentaries To Make You Feel Good About The Planet (Again!)

You are totally excused for wanting to watch escapism right now - something that will take you away from your everyday world. But I have a suggestion for you - instead of watching another episode of "Emily in Paris", you might feel more inspired by a nature doco! A timely reminder of how beautiful this planet of ours still is. Stay connected to the great outdoors by immersing yourself in some utterly stunning scenery.

Connection with nature is therapeutic and even if you can't physically get to these places right now you can "travel from home".

Here's a list of docuseries to help change your mindset from despondency about our world to awe:

1. Night on Earth (Netflix): This 6 episode series gives the audience an inside look at the rarely seen nocturnal world of wildlife. Shot, using low light cameras, it's full of stunning night time images of animals' night time habits.

2. Seven Worlds, One Planet (BBC One): You have quite possibly already seen this 7 part series, narrated by David Attenborough, but it really has some of the most amazing wildlife footage.

3. Patagonia's films (online) From activism to running through stunning natural landscapes, Patagonia have a library of short online documentaries.

4. Absurd Planet (Netflix) Described as "marries documentary techniques with animation and humour, to give viewers an inside look at some of the most incredible animals our planet has to offer". Might be a fun one to watch with the kids.

5. The Biggest Little Farm (buy or rent on Youtube) Feel-good documentary following a Los Angeles couple and their dog on an 8-year adventure, getting back to nature and becoming self-sufficient with biodiverse farming.

6. Kiss the ground (Netflix) this one's a full-length documentary that looks at regenerative agriculture and how it is a compelling solution to climate change. This one will leave you feeling hopeful!

And, of course, if you have a suggestion for a wonderful documentary that filled you with awe, please share with us in the comments. Oh, and by the way, I did watch the whole series of Emily in Paris!
