Pope Francis writes a letter to Tony Abbott calling for a reformed G20 agenda

Kick-ass Pope Francis wrote a letter to Tony Abbott telling him to get his act together!

Pope Francis dubbed G20 leaders "examples of generosity" in meeting the needs of refugees, while also addressing action against inequality and environmental attacks.

He wrote a letter to our Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Abbott, emphasising the need for efforts to take action on climate change, eliminate causes of terrorism and prevent financial system abuse. Throughout the letter he attacks Tony Abbott's main agenda, which unsurprisingly is "highly focused on efforts to relaunch a sustained and sustainable growth of the world economy".

The Pope highlights that,

“Throughout the world, the G20 countries included, there are far too many women and men suffering from severe malnutrition, a rise in the number of the unemployed, an extremely high percentage of young people without work and an increase in social exclusion which can lead to criminal activity and even the recruitment of terrorists,”

“In addition, there are constant assaults on the natural environment, the result of unbridled consumerism, and this will have serious consequences for the world economy."

“I express these hopes in light of the post-2015 development agenda to be approved by the current session of the United Nations assembly, which ought to include the vital issues of decent work for all and climate change.”

His graceful end to the letter, wishes Tony Abbott with "prayerful best wishes", and "highest consideration". If It was my letter I would of ended it with an upright middle finger, but hey, that's me.

The pope is pretty awesome for this letter, hopefully it struck a nerve with our Prime Minister... if the pope can't convince him of his moral shortcomings, then who can?
