10 powerful women doing amazing things throughout history

This week at University I was learning about the representation of women in the media when they take on typically 'male professions', such as Julia Gillard becoming Prime Minister. One reading spoke about how women must exhibit both male (agentic) qualities and female (communal) qualities in order to be taken seriously and liked at the same time.... But just take a look at these women, they embraced their natural female qualities, took on traditionally male roles and kicked ass! Women have so much power, to make such great change and influence others. Women have done amazing things throughout history, here's just a handful of amazing women doing revolutionary things!

Sarla Thakral, 21 years old, the first Indian woman to earn a pilot license.
