Women in the world - Interview with Fadoua Brour

Women in the world - Sharing the stories of inspiring woman around the world taking action on climate change.

Fadoua Brour is the President and Founder of the Moroccan Youth Climate Movement - MYCM.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Ambitious, positive, energetic.

Tell us a little about the work you do and what you are doing at present?

As President Founder of the Moroccan Youth Climate Movement and National Coordinator- Morocco of the Arab Youth Climate Movement, I work together along with our team nationally and regionally to build  a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis, in the MENA Region, and all over the world.

We do this by educating, empowering, inspiring, mobilizing, (and engaging young climate activists in environmental and developmental activities) across the Middle East & North Africa region.

We currently organize workshops, caravans, and campaign to highlight the importance of dealing with climate change and work sustainably for better future.

What inspires you?

People who spend their life defending what they believe in until they make change and mark the history.

As I believe that women around the world have led big changes and have done too many things to preserve this planet, I choose to follow the same path to keep our Mother Earth save and livable for future generations.

What do you think are the unique strengths of women in taking action on climate change and living better for the planet?

Women are able to have an upstream and downstream influence, change is not that easy, however women proved through the history that they have the courage and ability to take the first steps to leave old habits behind and make others change their behavior in front of nature and earth.

What do you hope to see happening in the next year in relation to forming a Women’s Climate Action Agenda?

I learned through my experience in climate fields that women need absolutely and urgently to:
  1. - Lift up their voice and make it heard through a very strong communication network.
  2. - Collaborate with other stakeholders and climate networks from across the world to successfully advocate for the future of earth and the future of their children and progeny.

We know the time to act on climate change is now. Do you have an inspiring message or a call to action you would like to share with our 1 Million Women community?

Let us think about helping those women from local communities, from disadvantaged areas, who deal daily with climate change impacts. Let us help them to make their voice heard, and speak up for their rights for a real climate justice and climate equity.
