Waleed Aly slams Australia’s performance on fighting climate change.

Waleed Aly, Australia's answer to John Oliver and my personal vote for next PM, has highlighted just how terribly Australia in doing in battle against climate change.

Two days ago in Paris, the Climate Change Performance Index was released at COP21, the Paris Climate Summit held by the UN. Australia came third last, just sneaking ahead of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia (who are receiving a mass amount of media coverage for their continued efforts to block negotiations at the climate talks). It's a minutely better effort compared to last year when we came second last. So there's that.

Prime Minister Turnbull has also walked away from talks that would see a pledge to get rid of fossil fuel subsidies.

While the government has pledged $1 billion over the next five years to tackle climate change, it's not enough. As Aly states, "We've literally been called the 'worst performing industrial country in the world' when it comes to tackling climate change."

It's a powerful video that's worth the watch. Click the image to play.

YOU'RE THE VOICE - Our anthem from women for climate action and hope

With a vibe of hope building that the nations of the world will agree on a breakthrough climate change treaty in Paris this December at the UN Climate Conference (COP21), we have an opportunity to influence world leaders in making decisions that will safeguard the world for future generations.

To do this, 1 Million Women transformed John Farnham's much-loved song, 'You're the Voice' into a powerful anthem from women for climate action and hope. Using the power of music, we want to inspire every woman, man or child to ADD THEIR VOICE - #IMTHEVOICE - to our anthem and form a united call to world leaders for strong action on climate change.

Will you watch the powerful video and add your name?

With your help, we can capture the attention of governments and stand as a clear call for climate action and hope.
