2014 was one of the warmest years on record for America's wintriest state, something a bunch of 4th-graders weren't too happy about!
White Christmas dreams were dashed for Quinhagak teacher Jim Barthelman and his 4th grade students, as Alaska had one of its warmest years ever in 2014.
In fact, for the first time in recorded history, the temperature never dropped below zero in Anchorage for a whole calendar year.
This video tells the story of Alaska's warm, wet and not-so-white Christmas.
“The video didn't work," said Barthelman. "It didn't produce more snow for us."
It would seem likely such conditions will occur more and more frequently as global warming continues. We understand these 4th graders pain. I mean, what's the fun in snow angels without snow?
