Minimalism Makes This Tiny House Spacious and Beautiful

The average Australian produces over 1.5 tonnes of waste per year and as a population we average over 21 million tonnes. Our landfills are overflowing and they produce methane gas, a harmful greenhouse gas, as well as leachate, a toxic sludge that can kill plants and animals and contaminate water supplies. We need to drastically reduce how much we waste. The best place to start is looking at how much we consume. Enter - minimalist living!

Minimalism is a lifestyle of stripping away unnecessary elements and focusing on what we really need, hence reducing wasteful consumption. This includes the clothes we buy, the amount of food we eat, and the household items we own. Minimalism is aesthetically beautiful too. - Just look at these photos of a minimalist designed tiny house in Japan.

With just 55.1844 square metres of space to work with (that's 594 square feet), Mizuishi Architects Atelier created a beautiful, stylish, and most surprising of all, spacious living space. That's all thanks to smart interior design and reducing the clutter.

Tiny houses are a sustainable living trend that complements the minimalist lifestyle.Traditional sized residential houses account for a startling 18% of greenhouse gases. By opting for a tiny house, you could be cutting energy usage by over 30%, according to a US report from Colby College.

Don't let the exterior fool or scare you. Smart design proves that you don't need the space to make space! Decluttering, painting the walls white and having wide ceiling height windows made this tiny house look spacious and light.

What an inspiring message to show that you don't need size and 'things' to make a home beautiful.
