How to make a natural pesticide

Pesticides, by their very definition are created to kill, repel and/or control plant and animals considered to be pests.

It's beyond insane that we eat the plants and fruit which pesticide have permeated. It's poison and we're eating it, putting it on our precious plant life and letting it run down into our waterways, poisoning our fauna.

Having said that, we can all agree that garden pests are frustrating and often a big deterrent for many novice gardeners. Instead of letting it put you off or reaching for toxic spray, try this easy and natural recipe for pesticide.

Natural Pesticide

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil based liquid soap
  • 4 cups of water
  • A few drops of orange or lemon essential oil
  • 3 teaspoons of white vinegar

Add together and shake well. Spray as needed, but do keep in mind this is still a pesticide and not some sort of self-aware polymer called Flubber. It will kill all bugs - good and bad.
