This Couple Transformed An Unused 1993 School Bus Into A Tiny Home

The 38 feet long 1993 Ford B700 BlueBird school bus once had 12 rows of seats and a capacity of 61 passengers. It has now been transformed into a tiny home which will be equipped with a shower, toilet, kitchen, desk, bed, insulation and 4 solar panels.

Couple known as Ashandrik on Imgur, picked up the unused bus in the Boerne School District of Texas and transformed it into a gorgeous tiny home.

Gutting the bus

The seats were removed from the bus to accommodate for the new interior.

Redoing the floor

The thick rubber floor was pulled up and replaced with floor boards.

Raising the roof

The 6'3'' ceiling was raised on the bus to give that high ceiling feeling.

Adding the front door

The front door to the home was installed in the back of the bus.

Insulating

Insulation was added to the inner walls of the bus to keep the home warm in winter and cool in summer.

Painting the exterior

The house was then spray painted white and green to replace the school bus yellow.

The final product!

The tiny home has 4 solar panels installed on the roof, it has curtains for privacy, and a front and back door for convenience.

With more and more people choosing to build their own tiny homes, a trend in sustainable small-scale living is spreading across the world. Emerging in the late 1990's in the United States, the tiny house movement is a lifestyle choice that many people have chosen for economical and environmental reasons. Large houses generally equal large environmental impacts, which is why choosing to live smaller and on less is a great way to reduce your impact on the planet, while saving a tonne of money.
