I became involved with the 1MW campaign after the Women in Climate Change breakfast series in late 2009. I had recently commenced my own business as what I term a “sustainability change agent” with the purpose of helping community groups, businesses, organisations, institutions and individuals.

Up until the middle of 2006 I had my head buried deep in the sand. I used to think I was just one person and what could one person really do to make a difference. Then I had my epiphany. I realised that this issue needed action from Governments down and from the grassroots up.

I have begun my journey. I am a mother of 3 young boys, all of who are seemingly oblivious to the importance of climate change. I recently had the Climate Smart team come to my home and show me how to save money through energy efficiency measures. It was fantastic.
