Ban Ki-moon to join peoples climate change march!

The largest peoples climate change march in history will take place this Sunday, September 21st, and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will be joining the action!

Mr. Ban Ki-moon, is to join a public march calling for action on climate change this weekend.

“I will link arms with those marching for climate action,” Ban told a press conference. “We stand with them on the right side of this key issue for our common future.”

It is unusual for someone as high-ranking such as himself to attend mass public protests, which shows how seriously he takes the issue of climate change, and how high his hopes are for the UN Climate Summit that follows a few days after the march.

Mr. Ban said, “Action on climate change is urgent. The more we delay, the more we will pay in lives and in money."

The summit on September 23, called by the secretary-general to discuss climate change, will include over 125 world leaders including Barack Obama, David Cameron and scores of other heads of state and government from around the world.

They are expected to talk about ways to cut greenhouse gas emissions, in preparation for a crunch meeting in Paris next year at which world governments are supposed to sign a new global agreement on the climate.

The organisers of Sunday's peoples climate march are hoping for tens of thousands of people to turn out in support of their aims, and to put pressure on the world leaders for a meaningful summit.

We are so glad to hear that Mr. Ban will be marching with them because of the strong signal it sends about the importance of this summit.
