Share your workwear on TuShare! Abide by the "meat and potatoes" philosophy

This week we are asking you to share your workwear on TuShare (that rhymes)!

Whether you wear your every day clothes (or play clothes as my old school teachers used to call them) or have specific work clothing, most of us are wear our workwear the majority of the week. But what do you do when you no longer need or want that clothing? Join the sharing community of course!

Here are the facts:

- In western culture a majority of our time per week is spent at our place of work, this means at least 70% of our clothing is ‘work wear’. 55% of Women say they have clothing sitting idle in their wardrobe they they’d be happy to share. Yet 1/3 of Australians have thrown away household items still in useable condition. But the good news is that 9/10 women have shared something useable in the last year!

- We all need to follow the "meat and potatoes" rule. Confused? I definitely was. Here's what it means, 70 percent of the clothes you own should be meat and potatoes. 30 percent should be icing and fluff— that's colour, pattern, shine, accessories. In other words, 70 percent should be staples and 30 percent should be "other" items, things such as accessories that compliment the staples.

- Tushare is a great way to share your clothes and other items with people who need them, and get great stuff back in return! So many of us have too much stuff, instead of letting it go to landfill we need to participate in alternative ways to get rid of our stuff when we are done with it. That's where the sharing community comes in!

The 1 Million Women Sharing Hub has close to 10,000 members. These wonderful people have already shared 750 items saving nearly 1500 kilos from landfill! The positive impact we’re having is huge! Click here to join the sharing community today!

This Saturday we are having a FLASH SHARING EXTRAVAGANZA! We're asking as many people as possible to post their unwanted workwear on TuShare this Saturday, then on Sunday to take something they will wear from the site and give it a new life! Give and get stuff for free AND help reduce landfill? Sounds like a pretty good idea to us! Click here to join the sharing community today!
