Tiny houses with big benefits

The tiny home movement is growing rapidly, and understandably, they are extremely beneficial and very cute!

There are many advantages to downsizing your home, it’s amazing how they can de-clutter your life and save you money. It’s pretty simple, the smaller the house, the lower the cost. Cleaning will become infinitely quicker and easier. Your home will only be filled with the things you really need, over-consumerism won’t be a problem. And above all you will significantly minimise your environmental footprint!

However, if you don’t choose to live full time in a tiny home, there are other reasons to build or buy a tiny space.

Here are some other ideas of how to utilize a tiny space:

1. Tiny office: If you are self-employed and work out of home try downsizing your office. Buying or building a tiny house as an office is a great idea. It’s always nice to get out of the house and away from the family to complete your day’s work, but also be able to close the door at the end of the day and leave work at the office for the night.

2. Tiny workshop: If you’re an artist or a writer or something of the sort then a tiny house as a workshop or studio could be an excellent working place for you. A lot of tiny homes are actually being built on truck beds, allowing you to move your space around as you please. Imagine being able to change your studio location from time to time. This could be a fantastic way to get those creative juices flowing.

3. Tiny house instead of moving out of home: Most young people have that inherent desire to break free from their childhood homes, yearning for independence. However, most also can’t afford living on their own. A tiny house in the backyard could be a cheaper and more efficient solution. It will save money and also slightly give them the independence they desire. When they actually do leave home for good, you can use the tiny house as a guesthouse or one of the options mentioned above.

4. Tiny house as a weekend home: Do you ever just want to escape for the weekend but just can’t afford to rent a place or buy a second home? Tiny houses cost much less and if you play your cards right you could end up with no mortgage at all. You can have a beautiful tiny home to get away to and escape the pressures of daily life for extremely little money.

Be inventive and maybe a little unconventional, try these wacky little home ideas and see how it can actually transform your life.
