Beautiful images of pastel drawings that address climate change!

In 2012 Zaria Forman led an art expedition sailing up the northwest coast of Greenland. The pastel drawings she produced on this journey are out-of-this-world and bring attention to the rapidly changing Arctic landscape...

Forman states the inspiration for Chasing the Light - her Arctic voyage - began in early childhood when she traveled with her family throughout several of the world's most remote landscapes. The journey was originally conceived by Forman's late mother, who was an artist herself, and in August 2012 the idea became a reality.

Chasing the Light reflects the incredible magnificence of the Arctic landscape in a beautiful and also documentary way. Forman's mission through her soft and hyper-real pastel drawings is to depict the changing nature of the Arctic due to climate change.

The artist says, "My hope is that these drawings bring awareness, and invite viewers to share the urgency in a hopeful and meaningful way. Art can facilitate a deeper understanding of any crisis, helping us find meaning and optimism in shifting landscapes."

We couldn't agree more. Enjoy!
