Family can be the toughest people to buy for in any given holiday season.
So don’t buy for them.
Try creating one of these awesome, sustainable and DIY presents – made with love.
Peppermint Marshmallows
Every year growing up I was given one of those plastic stockings filled with individually plastic wrapped chocolates. Instead of buying those sort of things- why not try making your loved ones some of the peppermint marshmallows and popping them into a beautifully upcycled jar. Click here to find out how easy it is to make!
Vegan Nutella
With more and more people deciding to go vegan, it can be hard to know what to get them as a gift. If someone in your family or friend group has taken the plunge into veganism - why not try making them this old family favourite? I can guarantee it will be a massive hit, especially if presented in a beautiful upcycled jar.
Coconut Oil Scrub
This one could be perfect for mum, sister... or anyone who likes the smell of coconut oil!
Coconut oil is subtly fragrant and slightly miraculous. This one is a super moisturizer, and can practically double as dessert.
You will need:
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix ingredients together in an upcycled jar. Prepare to be the favourite for the rest of the year for giving such an amazing gift.
Rosemary Salt
Making your own rosemary salt is easy, fun and delicious! This is a great edible gift for all those foodies in your life and keeps indefinitely.
Makes Four (200 gram) Jars of Rosemary Salt
1 cup packed fresh rosemary leaves
1 cup coarse salt
3 cups flake salt (sea salt or kosher salt for example)
Preparation:
Pop the rosemary in a pan and cook until fragrant. The rosemary will also be drying out during this cooking process which means the next step will be much easier.
Grab a mortar and pestle and work at the salt and rosemary in small amounts, a handful at a time.
Place the end result into your beautifully upcycled jar and gift away (if you can stand to part with it).
