For humans, the earth is an incredibly big place, but in terms of the universe, earth is actually just a small ball amongst a whole lot of stars, dust and vast emptiness. It's easy to forget our relatively small place in the universe with so many things happening here on earth, but every once in a while, it's nice to break out of our own perspective and perhaps view life through a different set of eyes. How about the eyes of a satellite? These satellite images of landscapes around our world look almost like paintings. The beauty of the natural world and the developments of man are melded together to provide a view of earth we are usually too close to see. Somewhere within the images we are there living our lives, and hopefully seeing these faraway depictions of our world reminds us again why we need to protect and care for this earth.
